Sandra Nobbs
Triarch Placement Program (2011)
"I would like to thank Hannah, Carol, and Christina from the Foundation for all the guidance, support, and encouragement that you gave me in realizing that I can do this. I learned more about working on different computer programs, which I previously always felt a little computer illiterate about. You also gave me skills in different tasks that I never have done before. You also gave me confidence and for that I can never thank you enough. I will miss you all and thank you for making me feel that I was part of a real team."

High School Student Summer Volunteer (2010)
When I started to volunteer with GPHSF, I didn’t really understand what the company did, or what my work was going towards. A few weeks in, I found out what a great team I had become part of and felt great about the work I was doing. I was made to feel so welcome, and I felt confident asking any questions I had. The best thing about GPHSF is that I saw where my work was going, and was able to see feedback on my efforts, which was really rewarding. It has been great being part of such an awesome team!
Jeanette McIlmoyle
Student Volunteer (2010)
I am a new graduate of the Office Administration Program at Fleming College and I just finished a two week volunteer placement at Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation. Where did the time go? I’ve volunteered at different places before but never with such fun, friendly, and considerate people as Hannah, Carol, Christina, and Orma. Enough can’t be said for their kindness and consideration. From the very beginning I was made to feel welcome and one of the team. Through their guidance and patience, I gained the confidence to tackle my new found skills. I would be proud and honoured to return to lend a helping hand whenever possible. I not only gained experience, but I gained some new friends as well. My help was acknowledged and gratefully appreciated, which made this experience even more memorable.

Student Volunteer, 3rd year Bio-Med (2010)
I would like to sincerely thank Hannah, Carol and Christina for allowing me to be a part of their dynamic team over the summer. I have learned very important skills, and gained valuable experience during my time with GPHSF, whether it be doing internet research or calling local clinics and businesses. It was very rewarding to see the important impact my work had at GPHSF, and I truly felt like my time there benefited the Foundation. I am so glad that I was part of such a successful charity golf fundraiser, and will be more than happy to lend a hand again in the future. I will miss the GPHSF, and all the friends I have made through the Foundation.

Student Volunteer (2010)
“When the time came to look for a placement I was looking for an organization that was organized, effective, and professional. I found all of this, plus more at GPHSF. The GPHSF team expressed I’d be doing many different office procedures instead of the same task every shift. The variety of procedures I’ve learned here have been endless and this will affect my future tremendously. GPHSF staff is always friendly and ready to help in any way possible. I will take many things with me from this experience, using the skills I’ve learned both professionally and personally.”
Family Health Teams
Chemong Family Health Team"Thank you very much for the donation and coordination of the wheelchairs to both the Lakefield Morton Centre and the Chemong Clinic in Bridgenorth. They will be of great service to our patients." - Physicians and Staff of Chemong Family Health Team
Peterborough Community Family Health Team
"On behalf of the Peterborough Community Family Health Team, we would like to thank the Board of the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation for the purchase of Oximeters to be used in our practices. They arrived at a most opportune time in view of the ongoing H1N1 pandemic, but will continue to be useful in the assessment of our many patients with asthma and chronic obstructive lung disease." - Dr. Stephen Ragaz, Lead Physician, and Dr. John Beamish, Associate Lead Physician Peterborough Community Family Health Team
The Peterborough Clinic Family Health Team
"On behalf of the health care personnel of The Peterborough Clinic Family Health Team we wish to express our appreciation for the oximeters that we received. They are extremely valuable in our assessment of Influenza Like Illness in our patients and also those patients in our Day Clinic who do not have a family doctor. Thank you for assisting us during this challenging time." - Dr. Judith A. Armstrong.
Grant Recipients
Learning Disabilities Association of Peterborough“The Foundation has provided resources that have truly enhanced the delivery of our services. We were devastated by the 2004 flood and our unique Resource Library was lost. With the financial support we were able to rebuild a portion of this important community resource. As an agency focused on the learning disabled this investment was vital, giving our clients and the general public access to the latest information about learning disabilities and associated disorders.”
Hospice Peterborough
“Thank you to St. Joseph's Care Foundation for providing Hospice Peterborough with a $5,000 grant to refurbish our Community Library. Hospice Peterborough Library facilities are open to the public, at no cost and are regularly used by clients and their families, staff, caregivers, volunteers, students, other community partners and professionals. With the help of the grant we have been able to continue to provide essential resources and information services that benefit our entire community."
Danielle Belair, Executive Director
Community Care Peterborough
"The grant received will allow us to purchase eight additional personal distress alarms to install for eight new clients living in Peterborough County and City. Community Care is aware of several situations where a client of the service has used the system, help has arrived and disaster or certainly significant pain and suffering have been avoided. The benefit to the client when it is used can mean the difference between life and death in the most extreme cases. Thank you for assisting in improving the quality of life for area seniors and adults with physical challenges living throughout the County and City."
Nicola Lyle
Peterborough School for Young Moms
"The generous support of the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation allowed the School for Young Moms to equip its playroom with a wide variety of high quality, developmentally appropriate toys and activities. The toys and equipment provided for with this funding are a key component of the School for Young Mom’s ability to provide nurturing care, and stimulating programming for infants while their mothers attend school next door. We could not possibly have created this wonderful space without the support of the foundation."
