The GPHSF would like to sincerely thank all of the tremendous volunteers that make our work to improve community-based health care services possible, through their hard work and dedication.

Ruth Culley

I’ve had such a great time at the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation. Hannah, Christina and Carol made me feel right at home from the moment I started and were great at answering any and all of my questions. This internship was a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the human resource sector of a not-for-profit organization. By working closely with the Docs on Ice event, I felt that I was directly involved in the work process. The skills that I have taken away from this opportunity have been priceless and will help me greatly in my future endeavours. I would like to thank Hannah, Christina and Carol for this positive opportunity and giving me the volunteer bug! I will miss all the staff and volunteers here at the Foundation.

Tim Chiarelli
Placement from SSFC - Office Administration (2011)

After completing an Office Administration course at SSFC, I contacted Hannah about doing volunteer work at the GPHSF as part of my placement. I had no idea how great a place it was to work. Hannah, Carol and Christina were so nice and helpful, and they made me feel welcomed right from the start. They were very informative about the Foundation’s goals, and were eager to answer any questions I had. But the one note that really struck me was how appreciative they were for the work I, and every volunteer, did. They know the importance of volunteers, and thanked me every time they asked me to do something, and after I finished the task asked of me. Also, Orma and Krista at the courtesy phone always had a smile and a friendly “hello”. I really enjoyed my time here, and will certainly help out in any capacity I can in the future. This is a great team working for a great cause.

St. Peter's Secondary School Student Volunteer (2011)

"I really enjoyed my time here at the Foundation. Throughout the 5 months of being here I learned a lot of new skills that will help me in the future. I also had the chance to be involved with a lot of great opportunities I would have never thought I could have experienced, such as assisting Carol with the volunteer appreciation party. This experience taught me a lot about event planning which is in my interest. I would really like to thank Hannah, Carol & Christina for this wonderful opportunity and for making me feel like a great part of their team. I will miss everyone here at the Foundation and I thank you all again for this wonderful experience!! "
