Volunteer opportunities with the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation come in all shapes and sizes, and vary by time of year, commitment, and skills.  We are focused on finding you opportunities that are matched to your interests, skills, and availability.

Peterborough Speakers Series Committee Member

Lend your expertise; contribute your skills and knowledge.  You will work with a team of volunteers and staff to assist in the planning, organization, and design of the March 2012 Peterborough Speakers Series.

Committee members lead promotion, entertainment, logistics, sponsorship, volunteer recruitment, ticket sales, and set-up and take-down efforts for the event.  Meetings are held once a month for 1 hour, with the possibility of additional meetings closer to the event date.

This is a FUN way to get involved and support health care services in your community!

Graphic Designer (18+)

This position will include designing and laying-out documents such as flyers, annual reports, posters, fundraising letters, graphics for social networks, etc.  The application will receive exposure for their design work and solid portfolio pieces, along with a reference letter for future employers or school.

We are looking for an application that is able to work independently online and via email.  The volunteer will have flexible hours and be available on a regular basis.

Photographer and/or Videographer Volunteer

We need to continue to document all of the Foundation's efforts and events in our community.  As a photography and/or videographer volunteer, you will attend Foundation events and funding announcements to take photos/video.  You will help to show our supporters and the community exactly how and what we are doing to improve primary health care services in the City and County of Peterborough. 

Preferably volunteers will have their own equipment and some amateur photo/video experience.

Analyst Volunteer

You will assist staff in obtaining information necessary to future fundraising campaigns.  You will use your knowledge of research methodology and knack for finding information to develop reports on your findings and a recommended course(s) of action.  You will help develop background information, new findings, and other informative and useful information related to the campaigns.

Docs on Ice Volunteer Coordinator

You will manage all elements relating to volunteers with Docs on Ice (2012).  You will ensure that there is enough manpower on all levels to ensure the successful execution of the event.  You will lead recruitment, training and development for all volunteers in the weeks and months leading up to, as well as the days of the event.

Event Day Volunteers - Docs on Ice

We are in need of 100+ volunteers to assist with the March 2012 Docs on Ice event.  We need you to help make this event a success!  All proceeds from the 2012 tournament will support the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation.

Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks over the 3-day event, such as: check-in and registration, set-up and take down, scorekeeping, being runners, etc.

Writer

Do you enjoy being creative?  Are you talented at putting the right words down on paper?  We are in need of an individual to work closely with Foundation staff and Communications Committee members to formulate compelling and creative materials for print and online projects to effectively promote the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation and its campaigns.

Social Media Volunteer

Do you enjoy social networking? Are you familiar with utilizing Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.?  Do you have awesome communication skills that you want to put to use? 

If you answered yes to these questions, then we have the perfect role for you.  We need a volunteer to take charge of writing posts and developing relationships online to build the Foundation's presence in the Greater Peterborough community.  You will help develop a strategy to generate more awareness of the Foundation and help to engage fans of the Foundation.
