Dr. Steve Senior Memorial Fund
March 12, 1948 – March 11, 2013
“I think Steve would be honoured and pleased to have his memory preserved in such a fashion. He certainly was an advocate for continuing education. This is a wonderful and appropriate memorial for Steve.” –– Colleen Senior
GPHSF, Your Family Health Team Foundation, created the Dr. Steve Senior Memorial Fund to honour the memory of a dedicated family physician and his service to our community. Dr. Senior, who was a physician at the Morton Community Healthcare Centre, spent more than 35 years as a family doctor in Lakefield. This fund carries on Dr. Senior’s legacy of supporting ongoing education for physicians and allied health professionals that they require to provide patients with the highest quality care possible.
To date, the Dr. Steve Senior Memorial Fund has contributed over $50,000 towards continuing education within the Peterborough Family Health Team, everything from training for allied health professionals to larger annual educational opportunities in our community such as Grand Rounds and the keynote address at the Brain FHT Conference every February.
